Gives ample time to clean up ferret poo and pee, the only reason we are replacing ours is because we had a momma dog give birth to puppies in the pen. It has some blood stains from her but the biggest issue was disinfecting it. Single best item I have ever bought for my ferrets was the playpen.

Pooh and pee will stain this mat. But it too has been a lifesaver for my floors. However, there is a seam in the middle of matt and my wonderful little creatures have scratched it open and now tunnel under the mat, spilling the dish and foods and what have you. I gave up and trimmed the hole they made fearing the strings would get caught in claws. Otherwise the pen and the mat are wonderful. At this price I can afford to get a new one when I need one.

This mat came with my playpen order. It's great! Not completely waterproof when the "puddle" is very big, but enough so to get you through 'till you can wipe it up. Wipes clean very well. After a few days, washes up great in the washing machine on hot, dries overnight over a clothesline. A floor-saver for the owner of 4 finicky ferrets who sometimes "miss" the litter, or decide it's a good time to spill the water dish. :)
